Character Sheet Update: Leveled to 34, Smithing skill to 60.
Last Night: Spent the evening primarily mining iron ore (after once again spending the night in jail to fix an animation glitch that prevented me from doing anything that required using a station), transmuting iron to gold, and smithing.
Highlight of the session was my brilliant idea: if I get smithing to 55, I can train the last 5 levels, unlock the Improve Enchanted Weapons & Armor perk, then improve some already enchanted weapons and armor, and sell them back to the trainer to get my tuition fees back.
So, that’s what I did. I collected all my smithing materials—seemed easier than figuring out which material I needed to improve different things—and headed to the smithy in Whiterun. Crafted a bunch of jewelry, and a bunch of Nordic armor and weapons. Nordic stuff, btw, included in the DLC, looks just totally rad. I got to level 55 (and 34 overall), and ran up to Dragonreach to use the enchanter. Threw on some spiffy Banish, Fortify Destruction, and Fortify Sneak enchantments—all max level—and skipped down to the Skyforge.
“Hey Eorland, teach me some smithing?”
E: Sure, 8k gold
“Geez, no in-state tuition discount? Fine. Here. Now you stand there for a second. I’m going to improve these trinkets and sell them back to you.”
“oh, bummer, looks like you still don’t have enough gold. Okay, I’ll take all your ore and ingots too.”
Oh, one other hilarious bit. I was in Riften, I popped into the Pawned Prawn to dump some of my many many rings and potions, and I noticed a small piece of paper on the table. I picked it up and it read:
ALL EMPLOYEES MUST READ THIS
Whoever is putting skeever droppings in my bed needs to stop immediately…
I thought it was funny, so I kept it.
Uh-oh, guess I wasn’t supposed to do that. Sigh. Guess I’ll load a—wait, does that say…

One gold? My bounty is a single gold?
*Steps outside. Guard approaches.*
G: “Halt!”
Yeah, yeah. Look, I’m a member of the guild. Can we just make this go away?
G: “Hmph. Okay, but it’ll cost you.”
Chooses top conversation option that says Pay guard bribe of 0 gold
I about died laughing.
