This brochure is half letter size (5.5″ x 8.5″) and is designed to give guests an overview of Severna Park United Methodist Church and its offerings. After speaking with the church leadership, I also took the opportunity to infuse a bit of energy into the brand’s colors and typeface usage. The geometric patterns create a visual sense of activity and movement, and the oranges and teals reference the ocean flavor that permeates the community in which the church resides.
The theme for Advent was “Is Love Alive?” Then, for the Christmas celebration, we changed over to “Love Is Alive!”
The tone of the graphics reflect a more conversational approach to what can sometimes be a holiday season filled to the brim with rituals, some of which may have lost some of their meaning through repetition. The wood grain background reminds us of the humble setting into which God entered the world. I also produced a tri-fold brochure and poster detailing their Advent offerings.
